Assistant Management Accountant
Job Introduction
Due to continual growth Gleeson Homes are now looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to work within our Homes division. Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working closely alongside the existing Assistant Management Accountants, you will be responsible for accurate and timely management reporting for your region and deal with a variety of finance related queries from the wider business.
Role Responsibility
- Monthly management accounts for their region, working closely with the other regional Assistant Management Accountants in order to produce the results for the division
- Accruals, prepayments and fixed asset register for the region
- Processing house sales transactions and general ledger journals on the COINS IT system
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Understanding variances between reported and budgeted results for the region and communicating these internally as appropriate
- Ad hoc analysis as required by the Finance Director, CFO and the wider business
The Ideal Candidate
- An individual with practical experience of monthly management accounts processes, ideally suited to either a part-qualified accountant (e.g. CIMA / ACCA / AAT) or an experienced management accountant
- A confident IT user with strong Excel skills and an ability to pick up new IT systems quickly
- Attention to detail, ensuring that monthly reporting is both accurate and complete
- A team player with strong communication skills and a can-do attitude
- Experience of working to tight timescales, in particular month end reporting in a larger business or plc environment, would be advantageous
