Design Engineer
Job Introduction
Gleeson have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Design Engineer to join our growing land team to identify development constraints to ensure land bids are appropriately costed and margins maintained. Furthermore, you will provide excellent tender winning engineering advice that will give Gleeson the edge over competitors.
Role Responsibility
- Provide pre-bid engineering advice with respect to flood risk, drainage connection points and attenuation requirements
- Overview of levels and provide advice on engineering constraints to inform planning layouts
- Review existing services information and provide constraint information to land managers
- Complete audits at land bid stage (GW2) and provide brief design outline information to show how the bid was formulated in engineering terms and what assumptions made to enable the regional team to focus investigations and pre-development enquiries
- Undertake hurdle reviews pre-exchange (GW3) and pre-purchase (GW4) reviews and provide feedback to regional team on proposals
- Undertake outline designs utilising appropriate 3D ground modelling and drainage design software
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Engineer HND, BSC, IEng or similar
- Proven experience in residential development engineering strategies
- Experience of drainage design software
- Experience of utilising 3D ground modelling software
- Proven ability in report writing to describe constraints and solutions accurately and concisely
- Demonstrable experience in reviewing third party information and assessing constraints that will affect a development
- Team player who can advise and guide regional technical teams
- Possess excellent communication skills
