Gleeson Homes is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic HR Apprentice    to join our dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a supportive and professional environment.

 

The HR Apprentice will support the HR team in various administrative tasks, gaining valuable experience and skills in human resources through circulating each of the inter-departmental teams; HR Operations, Organisational Development, Learning & Development, Recruitment and Payroll. The role is ideal for someone looking to start their career in HR and develop a comprehensive understanding of HR functions within a dynamic and supportive environment.

 

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Take a ‘whole company’ perspective to the performance of Building Homes, Changing Lives by positively influencing business objectives whilst being Passionate, Collaborative and Respectful.
  • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening applications, and coordinating interviews.
  • Conduct pre-employment checks such as references and right to work checks.
  • Assist in the preparation and production of HR documentation such as offer letters, employment contracts and employment terms and conditions letters.
  • Initiate online onboarding bundles to new starters whilst monitoring progress through the onboarding material to drive a smooth transition into the company along with assisting with the induction of new colleagues across the business.
  • Maintain and update HR records and systems, including payroll data input and verification.
  • Manage the HR Inbox, assisting in handling employee queries, responding to queries and providing first-line support professionally and promptly.
  • Support the HR team in organising and coordinating employee engagement activities.
  • Attend meetings as a note-taker and provide summary notes.
  • Help coordinate training sessions and maintain training records.
  • Participate in HR projects providing administrative support and contributing to project outcomes.
  • Assist in the preparation of key status reports and updates on all KPIs relating to the HR function.
  • At all times comply with responsibilities under the Company’s Health and Safety and Environmental and Corporate Responsibility Policies and all other company policies, procedures, and instructions.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested.

 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellence organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with care.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
