Job Introduction
Gleeson are looking for an experienced HR professional to join our rapidly growing HR department. As HR Operations Manager your responsibilities will include mentoring and coaching the Regional HR Business Partners and support with all employee relations matters, reviewing and implementing new company policies and maintaining internal HR systems.
Ultimately, your role will be to ensure our HR initiatives are cost-effective, run smoothly and contribute to an engaged work environment.
Role Responsibility
Responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating HRIS performance
- Monitor key HR metrics
- Developing and implementing improvement plans to HR processes
- Design and implement company HR policies
- Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures
- Recommend new software to address personnel needs, like performance review tools
Evaluating HRIS Performance
The HR Operations Manager assesses the efficiency, fitness for purpose, and sustainability of the HRIS. The assessment should be benchmarked against the required output, speed, and capability to determine whether upgrades are or may become necessary.
Monitor Key HR Metrics
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports that analyse all aspects of the company HR performance. The reports must include corrective action plans where required, and the HR Operations Manager must collaborate with HR team members and management to ensure their implementation.
Developing and Implementing Improvement Plans to HR Processes
Identify opportunities for process improvement and develops plans to implement corrective action. It is then the HR Operations Manager’s responsibility to ensure these plans are put into effect, measure improvement, and report back to senior management on the results. The HR Operations Manager also makes sure that any necessary training is carried out.
Design and implement company HR policies
Ensure that all required policies and procedures are in place, published, and understood by all employees. In the case of legislative changes, business restructuring, or other developments in the company.
Act as a consultant to managers and staff regarding policies and procedures
The HR Operations Manager is responsible for helping employees with HR-related problems. Many queries will initially be fielded to the relevant HRBPs, but more complicated questions will devolve to the HR Operations Manager. Resolving these issues requires strong problem-solving skills, time management expertise, and a service-oriented mindset.
The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience as a HR Operations Manager or HR Manager
- Good knowledge of employment law
- Hands-on experience with Human Resources Information Systems
- Experience designing compensation and benefits packages
- Ability to develop clear and fair company policies
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
- Team management skills
- BSc in Human Resources Management or relevant field
- MSc in HR is an advantage
- CIPD qualified
