The business operates across 2 main divisions, Gleeson Homes and Gleeson Strategic Land. Gleeson Homes specialises in low-cost house building, offering new homes to low-income families in the North of England and Midlands. Gleeson Strategic Land specialises in land promotion by securing residential planning consents on land mainly in the South. The Group operates from 11 offices across England, with the Homes division contributing approximately two thirds of the Group’s operating profit and Strategic Land contributing one third.
Due to continual expansion we are now looking for a Land / Senior Land Manager to join the Strategic Land team based in Fleet, Hampshire.
Role Responsibility
Purpose of the Role
- To work under the direction of the Land Director and MD to assist in the acquisition of new quality Strategic Land Opportunities to supplement the existing Land Portfolio
- To provide advice and guidance to the Planning Managers in respect of project promotion to ensure that planning consents secured maximize returns
- To provide commercial input into the planning promotion of new sites
- The successful candidate will have a proven track record in site acquisition via fixed price contracts, Option Agreement, JV/freehold purchase, Promotion Agreement
Key Responsibilities
- To secure new strategic opportunities across the South of England
- To work with the in-house planners to target specific geographical areas for new site acquisition
- To negotiate and close transactions via Option / Promotion Agreement
- To provide commercial/land advice to Strat Land team
- To maintain and widen contact base to “market” Gleeson Strategic Land
- To contribute towards general business development on behalf of the Company
- Active engagement with and contributing towards general business development on behalf of the Company
- GIS support – identifying and following up leads through to offer and contract
The Ideal Candidate
- An experienced graduate with a strong track record of site acquisition and delivery success in a Housebuilding/Strategic Land function
- A commercially astute problem solver who can secure new projects and assist in driving them to profit delivery
- Full driving license is essential
- Computer literate and excellent communication skills
