Job Introduction

The Technical Department within the West Yorkshire region is expanding and evolving to meet the demands of our growing company. We have a new and exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the team here in the region to manage the delivery of residential projects from initial conception through to the development completion. 

Role Responsibility

  • Assist with the management of external consultants
  • Ensure a consistent approach to the Gleeson methods of work
  • Ensure all design information is issued to the relevant stakeholders
  • Develop awareness of the commercial implications relating to planning and architectural design, civil and structural engineering design
  • Develop the ability to technically engage with and direct consultants responsible for the above
  • Maintain records of Type approval with NHBC, LABC and SBD
  • Liaise with internal departments, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors as required
  • Coordinate Sales and Marketing literature for review
  • Subcontract Design sign—off
  • Develop awareness of group procedure and implement
  • Obtain competitive quotations as requested
  •  Actively seek constructive feedback from the build and sales departments and assist in effectively implementing amendments
  • Provide guidance to the Technical Apprentices
  • Maintain Pre-Qual documentation
  • Coordinate service sign-off
  • Maintain Consultant Schedule
  • Coordinate & report R&S bond levels
  • Coordinate & report BT & infrastructure rebates 

The Ideal Candidate

  • The role requires a strong technical knowledge base. Ideally from a technical design background, either architectural or civil engineering, preferably both.
  • Candidates from a project management/QS background would also be considered subject to relevant experience·                 
  • Knowledge of the house building industry gained preferably with a high volume house builder·                 
  • Educated to HNC/HND level.
  • Possess strong negotiation skills·                 
  • A Broad technical understanding.         
  • Strong people management skills
  • Experience of Auto Cad preferable
