We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Technical Manager with an infrastructure background to join the Gleeson Land team.
Main Responsibilities:
As a senior member of the technical team, it is crucial, to take a ‘whole company’ perspective to the performance of Gleeson Land. Being a Gleeson Ambassador for our vision, mission, values and our approach to performance excellence, whilst positively influencing and enhancing the profitability and operational effectiveness of the business.
A High level summary of key responsibilities:
- Undertake technical due diligence for new Gleeson Land opportunities, including producing summary technical reports.
- Advise on potential infrastructure and abnormal cost allowances for development viability appraisals, commissioning external cost consultants where necessary.
- Provide technical assistance on a variety of projects to the Land and Planning team during the promotion and planning application stages of development sites within the Gleeson Land portfolio, to ensure projects are technically deliverable, optimised and technical risks are mitigated.
- Produce, monitor and manage project delivery programmes to inform the wider development programme.
- Manage teams of external technical consultants responsible for producing technical drawings and reports sufficient for both outline and reserved matters planning applications.
- On occasions manage technical consultants responsible for producing technical drawings and reports sufficient for detailed technical design packages for complex infrastructure on major projects.
- Be familiar with and advise on the technical approval process and provide support for any subsequent legal agreement process associated with the delivery of projects.
- Ensure design and construction works are undertaken in accordance with the CDM Regulations and Health and Safety procedures.
- Report to the Technical Director on progress, forecast programme, financial performance and other project specific matters.
- To develop and maintain for the Company good relationships with all individual companies and organisations.

The Ideal Candidate:
- A relevant qualification and/or broad experience in the Technical discipline with an Engineering focus.
- Good strong knowledge of the full development process with an eye for detail and strong commercial awareness.
- Broad knowledge of the legal frameworks associated with planning and subsequent technical (development) procurement such as s106, s278/38, s104.
- Ability to create and manage programmes, in particular Critical Path, MS Project experience is desirable but not essential.
- Great organisational skills, be able to evidence strong delivery capabilities under pressure whilst managing multiple live projects.
- A good team player able to evidence strong collaboration, and strong customer focus with clients.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication across all levels.
- Broad awareness of H&S/CDM regulations
- Technically competent in using AutoCAD.
- Experience reviewing, analysing and reporting on project financials, including cost plans, monthly fee cost reports and cashflows.
- Understanding of legal agreements which relate to land matters and issues which can influence and/or impact on development opportunities and housing delivery.
