Skilled Site Labourer Job Introduction:

 

Gleeson Homes are looking for a skilled site labourer to join the team; they will be responsible for carrying out all general site duties, pre-boarding and CML works as required by the Site Manager on a day to day basis.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

The job role involves servicing the needs of the development, site manager and further site team and responding to the instructions and requests of the Site Manager as and when they are given. The job of skilled site labourer, by nature is varied and tasks would include the following all whilst carrying out all designated duties in a safe and responsible manner;

 

  • Unloading deliveries – this will include working with the delivery company as well as the forklift driver to ensure safe unloading
  • Cleaning up the site canteen and staff welfare facilities, clearing properties prior to CML inspection & occupation, keeping the site tidy, keeping materials correctly stored and secure in designated areas including site compounds
  • Preparing plots for inspection stages for NHBC, this will include and specifically be pre-board inspection and CML works however may also include other inspection stages
  • To advise the Site Manager when sub-contractors are leaving properties in an unacceptable condition following carrying out their own work and reporting on any damage to materials when being off-loaded
  • Be aware of all safety requirements and report back to the Site Manager should sub-contractors or any workers on the site fail to wear the correct PPE or act irresponsibly regarding other basic Health & Safety requirements
  • From time to time, be required to undertake straightforward maintenance items in occupied properties and these should be undertaken in a clean, tidy, courteous and responsible manner
  • Responsible for dealing with site security, both in respect of individual units and the overall site generally
  • At all times comply with health and safety policies and procedures, failure to do so will result in disciplinary procedures being triggered

 


 

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous skilled labouring experience
  • Up to date relevant industry related knowledge specifically with NHBC requirements
  • As and when necessary, attend any additional training requirements that are either required by statute or arranged by the company
  • Self-motivated
  • Flexible & adaptable
  • Reliable
  • In date CSCS card
