Technical Apprentice

Job Introduction

A vacancy has arisen for a Technical Apprentice to join our team. The role of the Technical Apprentice is to assist the Regional Technical team to support the regional and Group Business plan, commercial objectives, budgets and future growth requirements by being involved in Planning, Surveying and Technical matters. The overarching purpose for this role is to develop their knowledge, skills and behaviours where applicable to their relevant qualification and professional discipline in line with their career path development plan.

Role Responsibility

At Gleeson Homes, we’re genuinely passionate about what we do. We invest in our people and our communities, building homes, changing lives. We’re looking for an ambassador of the Gleeson Brand, who works passionately, collaborative and respectfully.

As a Technical Apprentice, you will:

  • Assist colleagues with the day to day running of the Group Technical Function
  • Assist construction management processes, including assisting with solving any potential site construction and sales queries
  • Drawing and document management; including updating systems, printing, and distributing information
  • Administration duties including creating word documents, spreadsheets, collating data, contacting consultants, filing, working with technical drawings and general office duties
  • Assisting in the preparation of meeting agendas and supporting information
  • Registering new product with the Building Control Body and maintaining records
  • Involvement and liaison with external consultants, local authorities, and utility companies 
  • Assist with the tender process and commercial analysis
  • Working as part of a team

Working Hours:

  • 36.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday 8.30am to 5pm
  • Friday 8.30am to 4pm
  • One day per week or block release at a local College to obtain a relevant Apprenticeship Standard

The Ideal Candidate

  • Grade 4 or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Prepared to travel to the office and development sites 
  • Confidence and ability to communicate with people at all levels
  • Highly motivated with a strong desire to learn
  • Experience in using AutoCAD / Revit (desirable) 
  • Ability to work under own initiative and manage time effectively
  • A full UK driving license and own transport
